Lanyue Zhang received a Young Investigator Fellowship to present her PhD work at the European Atherosclerosis Society meeting in Glasgow

Congratulations to Lanyue Zhang for receiving a prestigious Young Investigator Fellowship to present her PhD work at the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) Congress in Glasgow!

Lanyue's research focuses on developing circulating proteomic signatures of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. In her recent work, she trained and validated AtheroBurden scores—a set of proteomic signatures based on large-scale Olink assays in UK Biobank—that reflect systemic atherosclerosis burden, predict future cardiovascular events, and correlate with imaging-defined plaque burden. These signatures hold promise as scalable biomarkers for early detection, risk monitoring, and patient stratification in atherosclerotic disease.

Well done, Lanyue, on this recognition and on advancing the use of proteomics for precision cardiovascular medicine!
